Signs You Are Due for New Home Window Installation

Your windows play a crucial role in your home’s comfort, safety, energy efficiency, and appearance. Recognizing when it is time to replace them can help you avoid higher utility bills, security issues, and ongoing discomfort. Here are clear indicators that you should consider scheduling a new home window installation.

Noticeable Drafts or Temperature Changes
Windows should keep your home insulated from outdoor temperatures. If you feel a draft even when your windows are closed, or if certain rooms do not retain heating or cooling, your windows may have lost their seal or structural efficiency.
• Persistent cold or hot spots near windows
• Need to adjust your thermostat more frequently
• Noticeable airflow around window edges

Increased Energy Bills
Rising utility costs without a clear explanation often signal that your home’s insulation is compromised. Windows with broken seals, old glazing, or aged frames allow energy to escape, forcing your heating and cooling systems to work harder.
• Spikes in monthly energy costs
• HVAC system cycles more often
• Condensation or fog between panes

Difficulty Operating Windows
Windows should open and close smoothly. If you are struggling to lift, slide, or lock your windows, or if you see them sticking or refusing to close securely, it is time to consider replacement.
• Warped, swollen, or rotting frames
• Rusty or damaged hardware
• Windows that do not lock firmly

Visible Damage or Decay
Over time, windows are exposed to weather, UV rays, and general wear. Any of the following issues can compromise their structural integrity and safety:
• Cracked or broken glass
• Rotted or water-damaged wood
• Decaying seals or weatherstripping

Excessive Outside Noise
Modern window technology includes improved insulation against noise. Hearing excessive sounds from outside means your windows are not performing as they should.
• Noticeable increase in outdoor noise levels
• Little improvement when windows are closed

Water Leaks or Condensation
Moisture should never enter your living spaces through the window frame or panes. Water leaks or constant condensation can lead to structural problems and mold growth.
• Water stains or damage around the window area
• Persistent condensation between glass panes
• Mold or mildew presence on or near windows

Projects We’re Proud Of

At Bentley Remodeling, we take pride in our most cherished projects that exemplify our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Custom Windows & Doors Project

We enhance your home’s beauty and efficiency through top-quality window solutions. In our recent project, we installed the GAF Timberline UHD Slate roof along with Anderson 400 Series windows in a striking black-on-white design, featuring removable grills and full screens. We also included 400 Series casement windows and a stylish French wood gliding patio door, complemented by 1/2 inch insulation board. The Hardie 7” exposure straight edge siding in Boothbay Blue, paired with Boral trim, matches the existing layout beautifully. Designed based on the spirit of the historical Lambertville neighborhood, the combination of copper flashing and black casement windows with Boothbay Blue trim creates a colorful impression while providing an eye-catching contrast that elevates your home’s curb appeal.
